We think Glasgow is one of the best cities in the UK for great coffee. There are tonnes of places to head, where you can get a tasty caffeine fix and possibly a wee cake. No matter which area of Glasgow you’re living or working in, there will be a lovely little café waiting for you to pop in, keepcup in hand!

Wilson Street Pantry Glasgow


1. Wilson Street Pantry

Located down in the Merchant City, Wilson Street Pantry is an ever-popular brunch spot and a great place for a wee cappuccino. Whether it’s coffee while you shop, or a catch up with friends, the team at Wilson Street Pantry will make sure you’re in for a treat. 


2. Café Strange Brew

We recently featured Café Strange Brew in our weekly Merchant Spotlight, because they are a huge favourite. The pancakes are possibly some of the fluffiest we’ve seen, and the coffee is just delicious. A true Southside gem.

3. Fèist

The Swipii team love Fèist, and not only because they’re just a hop, skip and a jump from our office! They’ll whip you up a class latte and the cakes are also insane. Treat yo’self here next time you’re in the city centre. 


4. Caffé Calla

If you stroll around Blytheswood Square during your lunch break, you’re very near by our next recommendation- Caffé Calla! Not only can you enjoy a brilliant wee coffee, but their lunch specials are also always awesome.

5. Koo-ee Café

If you’re a bit further into the Southside of Glasgow, you might want to take a trip to Koo-ee Café. Truly delicious coffee and a wide selection of vegan treats, gluten-free treats and more. Plus, there’s a wee shop attached where you can pick up some pieces for your house! 


6. Hidden Lane Tearoom

Another gem in the West End, the Hidden Lane Tearoom might sound hard to find, but it’s in the heart of the popular Finnieston area. For those of you who prefer a good ol’ cup of tea to the coffee shops of Glasgow, this is a great choice.

Because they are such an incredible Asian supermarket and a great place to go for some dim sum or sushi, sometimes people overlook the fact that Oaka Supercity also does a great cup of coffee. Try it out!

Just along the road from Oaka, you’ll find Joanna Goodbite. If you work or study near Strathclyde Uni, you’ll definitely have been in. And everyone else should go too! Perfect for a caffeine kick and something quick to eat.

Coffee, but with more cats! If you’re a feline friend and would like nothing more than an afternoon surrounded by kitties and caffeine, the Purrple Cat Café is the place to go. Plus, it’s in the centre of Glasgow, so it’s easy to get to as well!

Last but by absolutely no means least, we have Down to Earth Organic Kitchen. Promoting a flexitarian lifestyle, this brilliant little establishment is the perfect place to pop in for a coffee and maybe a breakfast roll or a cold-pressed juice. Delicious!
