We’re feeling pretty romantic here at Swipii. Valentine’s Day is now just around the corner, and a couple of the team are panicking over making last minute plans with their other halves. So to help them out, and share some of our favourite spots, we decided to put together a last minute Valentine’s guide to Glasgow. Full of the top spots to take your date, or take yourself out on the town. Some of our chosen ten even come with the benefit of being Swipii app locations, so you can earn a few points with your meal. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.
Based as central as you could possibly get in Glasgow, The Citizen is a classy establishment in St. Vincent Place which will serve up everything from steak to afternoon tea. The building used to be the offices of the first evening newspaper in Glasgow, and we think they’ve managed to keep that feeling alive and well in the decor.
For something a bit different, Nankusa can be found on Sauchiehall Street. The Japanese grill restaurant serves up all manner of delicacies from sashimi to dishes cooked on the Yaki BBQ grill. For those who want to think out of the box this Valentine’s day, you should give it a try.
Located both in the City Centre and in the West End, this gorgeous Vietnamese restaurant is the perfect place to get that #instaworthy picture with your other half. Filled with authentic touches, it will be the perfect place to spur on a romantic evening.
Maple syrup cocktails and Glasgow’s first self-dispense beer bar, Stack and Still is a bit of a hit. Avoid the classic dinner and drinks cliché and opt for a pancake stack and a pint, make a Valentine’s Day to remember.
KoolBa’s canopied ceiling makes for a cosy interior that will make sure romance blossoms this Thursday. The Indian and Persian fusion makes for a delightful meal, and if you’re on the Swipii app can even work up some points and get some free treats on the night.
Well known for the dancers and the incredible cocktails, Revolucion de Cuba is the perfect place for date night or for a wild Galentine’s. Delicious Cuban food and oodles of rum, might make for a Valentine’s day that lasts well into the night.
Café Antipasti’s rustic interior should be known as one of the most romantic places in Glasgow. From the ironwork balustrades to the unique wooden tables, you’ll be able to enjoy the delicious Italian food from the specially curated Valentine’s menu.
Veggie or vegan? You and your lover are gonna need to try Grassroots Café. It’s the perfect place to gaze into each other’s eyes over a pot of delicious Chai tea.
Based on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow (although they also have an Edinburgh location), Tuk Tuk is a wonderful homage to the street food of India. It’s the perfect chance to get your hands dirty and share some finger food with your partner. Staying in and avoid couples? They’re also on JustEat and Deliveroo.
A classic location for date night. Di Maggio’s is hugely popular and best of all, it’s on the Swipii app as well. With the City Centre locations live on the app and the other locations still to come, we think it will make the perfect night out for Valentine’s day. We recommend Di Maggio’s Bad Ass Wings. A messy way to enjoy your date.
